Klub Kruise Kloses
Popular Brisbane sex on premises venue Klub Kruise closed its doors suddenly yesterday, leaving patrons out in the cold.
With gates locked and a simple chalk-drawn sign placed out front, many regulars were perplexed as to what was going on.
Facebook lit up after a photo of the closed venue was posted, with many people curious as to why.
One user asked: "Will the community be finding out what happened? And further more what's happening to the venue?"
Other posts lamented the closure of a favourite venue.
Later in the afternoon, flyers were posted on the walls outside the venue stating that the venue was closed for good and thanking its loyal patrons, with the website information also updated.
Klub Kruise operated in Brisbane for ten years and was owned by Ray Mackereth, the man behind Qnews and the White Wolf parties.
The venue won three QueensBall awards for Adult Venue of the Year.
Klub Kruise was approached for comment by Queensland Pride, no response has been issued to date.

Its coming back as 'Number 29' Don't stress, just new ownership.
Mystery solved ladies - owners did not renew lease. Rumours of redevelopment of site. Anyone know of a cheap rent sites in the valley?
Jimmy is the youngest staff member I saw working there.. 26ish
Have no idea who Jimmy is... Mature men behind cash registers don't always work too well - especially if trying to attract all ages.
Just like they don't want to serve customers like yourself with such attitudes.
A sad loss! Worst of all is I won't be able to visit to catch glimpses of Jimmy.. Spunky staff member.. Noooooooo!
Stuart - Klub Kruise was not a gay sauna per se - more a clothes optional sex on premises club. Competition is tough in the area with 'straight' sex / video clubs that attract bi sexual men - and who are happy for the gay boys to blow them on a Friday or Sat night. There's a couple of saunas - but they are a bit further out - and they have a strong base clientele - plus nude nights which are well subscribed. KK was struggling to keep a base - and as they did not have an adult shop attached to it - they probably were losing money in the last couple of years.
Agree but problem is at KK it was cleaner than its competitors and you did not get the same tired faces. Younger guys went there sure but aside from some competativeness you get anywhere, you had a chance to meet really great guys of most ages. I understand their position regarding money but it is a huge loss because the adult cinemas are in less fit state and the saunas are competitive and aside from nude nights the days of large numbers seem, for now at least, over. This is terrible.
This was a great place, not only for gay men, but bisexual and straight guys also. I'm straight but I liked to go there every few weeks to enjoy a connection. Sadly missed. Hope we find out why it closed.
It's all very strange. Why would they close their doors without telling the community? Too much secrecy. Mind you - the place was getting run down - nothing getting repaired - several staff changes. It must be hard making a buck these days with the gay boys!
Jeremy, we may never know why the sauna closed. How many gay saunas does Brisbane have left? They are important hubs for gay men to meet.
I was 15 when I started going to saunas. I travelled by country train to the city for adventure on school holidays. These places held a special place in our history. They were great meeting places in times when it was difficult to meet others. Klub Kruise no doubt has a also has a special place for many people.
It won't be long before Attorney General Jarrod Bleijie bans sex, and Fiona Simpson starts to burn books.
Peter, the Police banned my buttocks when I was arrested for attempting to campaign. They've threatened any further campaigning will result in jail.
Another loss to our lifestyle. Is there no end.
We are becoming a repressed minority again.
Blame it on Grindr!
