Sydneyvision opens for 2012 entries

The Newtown Neighbourhood Centre has made the call out for entrants in the third annual Sydneyvision Song Contest.

The not-for-profit group is dedicated to serving people in the community who are disadvantaged, but created Sydneyvision to celebrate the fun and creative streak the community has to offer.

The competition is calling on anyone who has an original song to send a video of them performing the piece that is then in the running to represent their suburb in the Eurovision-inspired contest.

The Newtown Neighbourhood Centre will select 14 finalists that will then feature at the Grand Final on August 22 at the Dendy Newtown.

The songs require the name of the performer’s suburb in the lyrics and during the video at least one performer must blow a kiss at the camera, wink shamelessly at the camera or throw off an item of clothing during the video.
