The Bobby Goldsmith Foundation have announced David Riddell as their new Chief Executive Officer.

Riddell has been with the foundation for two years, most recently as Client Services Manager.

He has also in the past worked for Carers NSW, St Vincent's Hospital Drug and Alcohol Detox, ACON, and sat on the board of Positive Life NSW.

“David had previously been identified by the Board as part of the succession planning that was underway within the business," BGF President Martin Walsh said.

"His appointment allows the organization to get back to the grassroots of what BGF is all about - our clients.”

Walsh praised Riddell for his understanding of the HIV sector.

“Through his expertise in the sector David will be well placed to advocate for the needs of BGF’s current and future clients and ensure that the organization can continue to provide the support they need,” Martin said.

Martin invited supporters to attend their upcoming BGF auction fundraiser.

"This auction is a key fundraising event for BGF and thanks to the generosity of Otto Ristorante and our event partners, the money raised with your help at this year’s BGF Auction will go directly to providing practical, emotional and financial support to people living with HIV,” he said.

Riddell will commence a month long handover with outgoing CEO Denise Aldous starting Monday, March 26.

The BGF auction will take place at Otto Ristorante, 6 Cowper Wharf Rd, Woolloomooloo on Wednesday April 18. Go to bgf.org.au
